The Benalla Bowls Club coach combined with South Bendigo’s Mitch Sidebottom and Kyabram’s Russell Locke to capture the Victorian Open men’s triples crown at Shepparton Park Bowling Club on Thursday.
A see-sawing final fell in Robertson’s favour, 16-12, against the composite side of David Daws, Brett Gunning and Brett Wright.
Robertson’s trio was behind, but picked up a five on the 12th end to get some breathing space.

“In May, I was laying in hospital after having a fusion done on my back,” he said.

Yackandandah’s Mary Tragardh and Moama’s Maryanne Spizer fell 19-8 in the final of the women’s pairs on Friday to former O and M bowler Dawn Hayman and Brighton’s Lisa Phillips.
