The All-Australian spoke to 15 clubs in the lead-up to the draft and was delighted to find his way to the Hawks.
“It’s a big relief,” Koschitzke said.
“I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and starting work.
“It didn’t worry me where I went, I just wanted to be picked up by someone.”
Koschitzke played his junior football for Albury and made his senior debut for the Ovens and Murray heavyweight in 2017.
He will be joined at the Hawks by CDHBU and Albury’s Mat Walker, who was taken with selection 63.
Yarrawonga’s Finbar O’Dwyer was picked up by Carlton with selection 66.
Oakleigh Chargers young gun James Jordon, who played three matches for Yarrawonga during the season, was drafted by Melbourne with pick 33.
Mooroopna’s Laitham Vandermeer was recruited by the Western Bulldogs at 37.
