The male was arrested on Hovell Street between the police station and Henri's Bakery just after 4:30pm on Friday.
It's believed the male was arrested after being allegedly involved in "a shooting incident".
"A male has pointed a firearm towards another male,” Detective Senior Sergeant Garry Barton said.
A crime scene was established at a home on Hague Rd, Wodonga just after 5:30pm, where the incident is alleged to have occurred on November 15.
"We are looking for either a home made firearm or an adapted fire arm,” Detective Senior Sergeant Barton said.
