Three dominant sets by Michael Cheshire set up Sacred Heart Gold’s six game defeat of Wodonga Bushrangers.
Wayne Cheshire, Graham McAuliffe and Jack Penny were serviceable with John McVean in great touch for Wodonga.
Rob Cabion enjoyed a big day out in Albury’s 5 sets to 3 victory over Forrest Hill Blues.
Sacred Heart Green cruised comfortably over Thurgoona Sharks and Forrest Hill Wombats likewise over SPD Yellow.
In the ladies, SPD Gold dropped the first but then rattled away with the next four sets against Glenly.
Jordyn Hopkins, Kealey Moore, Ash Moore and Cath Moore produced a solid team effort with Sue Carlin best for Glenly.
Tessa Quinlan, Molly Ebert, Maree Cribbes and Abbey Quinlan combined brilliantly claiming the final two rubbers in tie breaks to seal a hard fought win over SPD Green.
Uiver Park was untroubled against Forrest Hill.
Good tennis by Michael Pope, Phil Keene, Steve Mooney and Michael Glabbatz saw Forrest Hill Blues with the points from Wodonga Eagles in section 3.
An unbeaten Ian Lewellyn steered Albury Blue to a narrow victory over club mates Gold in another tight encounter with Neil Mitchell best for Gold.
Chris Rokahr was outstanding all afternoon in Wodonga Pirates’ salute over SPD Tigers with the charismatic Tony Grigg best for his team.
SPD Blue and Glenly Gold were too good for Thurgoona Bears and Forrest Hill Saints respectively.
In section four, St Patricks/Diggerville Yellow defeated Scots Gold by a game.
Dylan Rixon and Lachlan Graham sealed the win with a sound doubles rubber at the finish with Thomas Opdam solid early.
William Flahive, Henry Gniel and Skye Sommerville contributed to a fine contest.
Albury Green was well led by Mariana Vieira in their seven game triumph over Wodonga Bears with Jack Lidgerwood in great touch for the losing team.
SPD Green had all the answers in their defeat of Lavington Dragons with Ryley Miller finishing unbeaten for the winners and Molly Dove best for her side.
Other matches saw SPD Gold account for Lavington Phoenix and Wodonga Lions easily over Albury Blue.
