The Hume Murray Food Bowl, which runs the market, has welcomed several new committee members including John Hennessy and Michael O’Callaghan, who are now president and secretary respectively.
MORE NEWS:
Dr Hennessy, a retired surgeon, said he’d loved the farmers market for many years.
Most committee members, like outgoing president Anthony Keck, were producers with limited time, so welcomed the input of Dr Hennessy and Mr O’Callaghan, a retired accountant.
“How do we run it properly for the mutual benefit of everybody on it?” Dr Hennessy said.
“What do they want and how can we help?”
Through conversations and questionnaires, the new executive plans to survey producers and consumers on ways to keep the market progressive and evolving.
“One that enhances the lives of visitors and stall holders alike and gives the community the freshest and most wholesome food that they can obtain,” Dr Hennessy said.
