Pawson played in the Panthers’ seven-run win over Wodonga Raiders.
He played in Lavington’s 2012-13 premiership before heading to the powerful Northern District, although he’s yet to play there this season.
“I had a posterior impingement in my ankle, so I had surgery at the start of November,” he said.
In just his fourth first grade game two years ago, Pawson bowled a rampant Johan Botha in a thrilling T20 grand final win.
The 24-year-old also claimed his first five-wicket haul last season, including former international spinner Steve O’Keefe, while he also played alongside Test sensation Nathan Lyon.
The ankle complaint might stop Pawson’s career highlight though with Northern set to face former Test skipper Steve Smith’s Sutherland on January 12.
