A FIRE that burnt through about four hectares of grass and scrub at Tallangatta is under investigation.

The blaze started near Hardys Road, a short distance west of the town, about 3.50pm on Friday.
Water bombers and 19 fire trucks were dispatched to the scene and the incident was brought under control by 4.30pm.
A wildfire investigator was called to the area to examine the cause.
The incident occurred in hot and dry conditions, with the weather reaching 43 degrees on the Border.
