The second annual Rutherglen Tastes of Art Prize will run from March 9 to 11 at the Rutherglen Memorial Hall.
Rutherglen Tastes of Art Prize spokeswoman Joy Schmidt said the prizemoney was double that of the inaugural show, which was held to coincide with the Tastes of Rutherglen food and wine festival last year.
“We’re really encouraging all artists from the Riverina and North East to enter the show,” she said.
“The prizemoney is double last year and we’re hoping to increase the amount each year.”
There will be five categories including oil/acrylic/mixed media ($1000 prizemoney); photography ($1000 prizemoney); printmaking ($1000 prizemoney); sculpture ($1000 prizemoney); and work on paper ($1000 prizemoney).
The People’s Choice winner will receive $250.
A new Youth Award winner will score $250 while highly commended in each category will earn $200.

A gala opening cocktail party will be held on March 8 from 6.30pm.
Exhibition prize winners will be announced.
Guests will have the chance to view and buy the artworks.
Campbells Wines will be on offer at the event, the first is included in the ticket price.
Exhibiting artists will receive a complimentary ticket for opening night.
The exhibition will open for viewing and sales at Rutherglen Memorial Hall, March 9 to 11, 10am to 4pm.
