Mr Murphy mentioned four times at Wodonga Court that the unit in his chambers had broken and that a technician from Melbourne had been contracted to fix it.
He questioned why a local tradesperson could not do the job and commented he was “cranky”.
A Court Services Victoria spokeswoman said a technician travelled from Melbourne and the unit was fixed on Thursday.
“CSV’s building maintenance contractor was requested to repair the unit urgently,” she said.
“CSV was advised that no local technicians or sub-contractors were available due to the unprecedented number of urgent requests caused by the high temperatures in the region.”
The new record temperature surpasses the 44.8 degrees experienced on Black Saturday, February 7, 2009.
