A MAN has received serious head injuries after being attacked with a golf club during a dispute at Lavington.

Emergency services were called to Boomerang Drive, near the intersection of Dick Road, early Saturday morning.
A 40-year-old man had a attended a home about 2am or 3am and spoke with the two men inside.
Police were told the 40-year-old was assaulted in the street by one of the men, aged 39.
He was struck several times with the golf club, causing injuries to his ribs and his head.
Paramedics transported the man to Albury Base Hospital in a stable condition for surgery.
Police established a crime scene and are investigating the incident.
They are appealing for people with information to contact them.
Meanwhile the cause of a house fire at Yarrawonga is under investigation.
Firefighters were called to the Everist Avenue home about 8.20pm on Saturday.
The single storey weatherboard home was fully alight when they arrived.
Paramedics were needed to assist the two residents – a man and woman aged in their 70s – at the scene.
The pair had escaped the home before the fire took hold.
Firefighters spent several hours at the scene.
The property was extensively damaged.
Meanwhile a woman has been critically injured after being shot in the head near Deniliquin.
Police were called to a property on the Cobb Highway at Pretty Pine about midnight on Saturday.
The 31-year-old was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
Her husband, 32, was arrested and taken to the Deniliquin Police Station.
He was charged with firing and gun in a manner likely to injure, use unauthorised firearm and use a firearm under the influence of alcohol.
Two men and two women who witnessed the incident were interviewed.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
The man will face court at Griffith on Wednesday.
