The Northern Victorian Legislative Council member said he supported their action in calling for pill testing technology at festivals and other events.
“Whether from the point of view of harm reduction or making sure adults are free to make informed choices, legalising pill testing is a policy that makes sense and saves lives,” Mr Quilty said.

But Mr Quilty said this attitude was “costing lives”.
“The Upper House cross bench hold a wide range of views on many issues, but one thing we are all agreed on is that teenagers dying at festivals must stop,” he said.
“We won’t be silent on this issue.
“The time has come to introduce a pill testing trial in Victoria.”
