Jesse Featonby is in New Zealand this week for the five-day New Zealand Cycle Classic.
Racing started Wednesday with a 134-kilometre stage from Cambridge to Leamington on New Zealand’s North Island.
Featonby will spearhead Oliver’s Real Food Racing.
The tour concludes on Sunday, with the Albury export then returning to Australia to compete in The Sun Tour – starting on Wednesday, January 30.
Featonby will be desperate to bounce back from a horror run at last year’s tour, which saw him involved in a major crash on the Great Ocean Road during the opening stage.
He finished 63rd overall after claiming a top-15 finish in 2017, in what was his first major tour.
