Graffiti reported to be opposing the date of Australia Day was cleaned off the footpath at Albury’s Noreuil Park before Saturday’s ceremony.

Albury mayor Kevin Mack confirmed the clean-up but said he was unsure of the exact words used in the markings.
“The Aboriginal flags that were templated on the footpath were left, there was some very average language used so it was removed for that reason,” he said.
“I think people are just representing their views, they’re entitled to that.”
