The victim, 30, was involved in a fight on Vermont Street about 11.30pm on Saturday.
A group of people, all known to each other, had a dispute about stolen property.
The victim was stabbed multiple times and walked to the nearby hospital, but later discharged himself after receiving treatment.
A 13-year-old girl and 40-year-old man have been interviewed by police.
They were released without charge.
Detectives are seeking assistance from members of the public.
"Police are seeking assistance from any person that may have witnessed the incident to contact Wodonga police,” Detective Senior Constable Ray Causer said.
“The investigation is ongoing.”
