Firefighters were called to Fallon Street, near North Albury Public School, about 12.55pm on Monday.
The truck, which had a flat steel tray, was carrying cardboard which caught alight.

The fire was brought under control before the truck could be damaged.
The cardboard had to be removed from the tray and pulled apart to ensure the incident was safe.
It was unclear what sparked the fire.
