But Kylie Maree Keillor was not alone in claiming for services from the Canberra specialist that didn't actually occur.
A Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions office has told Albury Local Court that others had targeted Dr Danny-Glen Raiz, who has a practice at Deakin West in the ACT.
It said an investigation by the federal Department of Human Services revealed that invoices for "purported" services by Dr Raiz had been submitted to Medicare "by numerous individuals".
Keillor, 42, of Swan Street, pleaded guilty to a single charge of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage from a Commonwealth entity.
The charge goes on further to say the offending took place between December 19 and 29, 2017, in Albury and involved the payment of a Medicare benefit of $3216.10 from the department.
Keillor made no further comment about the matter when she appeared in court this week, when magistrate Imad Abdul-Karim ordered the preparation of a sentence assessment report.
The court was told how Keillor, using her Medicare card number, made a claim using the "Express Medicare" app.
The claim related to services she submitted as being provided by Dr Raiz on December 27, 2016.
The supposed cost of these services was $4500.
To support the claim, Keillor uploaded an image of an invoice and used her former address in Springdale Heights.
The $3216.10 benefit was paid into Keillor's bank account on December 29, 2017.
But a service verification schedule provided by Dr Raiz stated that he did not provide those services to Keillor, nor had Keillor paid the claimed $4500 bill.
The offending was detected by way of a data matching program.
Keillor was interviewed on June 6, 2018.
She admitted that she had altered a sales invoice using her own laptop computer and that she was not entitled to submit such a claim.
Keillor will be sentenced on March 26.
