The famous Rabbitohs will return to the Border for the first time in 25 years when they play at the Albury Sportsground.

"It's a big moment for them (Riverina players)," Bennett said.

"The biggest part for them is they're playing against quality players.

"If they can shine in that light and lift their standard and a lot of them will do because of the occasion will help them do it.

"I'm sure there will be a lot of scouts (NRL recruiters) there as well so it will be an opportunity to show them what you've got.

"They don't want to wait until the next week or the week after because they won't be here."

Bennett wrote a book in 2002 called, 'Don't Die with the Music in You', basically calling on people to fulfill their potential in any field.

Albury Thunder has four representatives in the Riverina team in captain Adrian Purtell, back-rower Jon Huggett, the classy Robbie Byatt and hard-running centre Etu Uaisele.

The quartet is past the age of being picked up by NRL clubs but some team-mates, as well as players in the curtain-raiser, are at an age where they can impress.

Barnstorming Thunder back-rower Liam Wiscombe will play in the Riverina under 23 team against a Victorian-based outfit, so the match shapes as the ideal opportunity to push his NRL claims after a best and fairest-winning 2018.

Bennett is in his first year with the Rabbitohs after a long stint at the Brisbane Broncos.

"We obviously want to play a brand of football that people enjoy watching, that's the bottom line," he said.

"I think I've always coached with that in mind.

"I love the game and I don't want people who watch it not to enjoy it."

Officials are hoping for a bumper crowd with the match to start at 6pm.
