An abattoir staff member made the discovery of the GoPro device after the business had been the target of multiple attempted break-ins this week.
Benalla Abattoir is listed on the Aussie Farms map along with other like businesses and farms in the North-East.
Owner Colin Sinclair said he was unsure why he had been targeted.
"It is unnecessary," he said.
"I am running a business and try my hardest to do everything right.
"There are not a lot of places killing pigs and the authorities preferred way to kill them is the co2 gas which I spent a fortune installing and now they want to target it and say it's no good."
Benalla Police Sergeant Michelle Edwards confirmed the GoPro discovery inside a machine was made early yesterday.
“We are looking back through the footage to see whether it has been set up and nobody has noticed the last two times someone has been in there overnight,” she said.
“Or whether it is a new incident.
“When it was reported to us they had not located a camera at that stage.
“Other than police patrols there is no security at the site.”
The police investigation into the repeated trespassing is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
Aussie Farms denied it put the Go-Pro in the abattoir.
"If a Go-Pro has indeed been found there, linking it to the map seems a very desperate stretch," executive director Chris Delforce said.
Member for Euroa Steph Ryan said she felt sorry for the family-run business.
"The Sinclairs run a law-abiding business and they should not be targets by trespassers," she said.
"This activity is illegal and the people who are doing it need to be held to account.
"It is also really intimidating and Colin and his family should not be in this position."
