TAFE teacher Sharon Howlett and VCAL students have been rotating between Mirambeena Community Centre and St David's Church on Olive Street in Albury.
"Anywhere between 15 to 40 people attend the lunches," she said.
"We have worked with Uniting Care on other projects, and this is the first time we've done food without barriers.
"It's not only applied learning, but gives awareness of civic responsibility."
The students have been under the guidance of retired TAFE teacher and Uniting Care Wodonga volunteer Richard Robertson.
"It's a good start for a lot of the students and gives them front and back house experience," he said.
