TRAINER Peter Maher is optimistic Cha Cha King can show further improvement and turn the tables on two key rivals in the $40,000 Albury Mile at Albury on Thursday.
Cha Cha King attempted an all-the-way win in the $35,000 Corowa Cup last start but was nabbed late by Noble Descent and Tudor Rule.
The trio meet again over the mile at Albury and are expected to figure prominently in betting markets.
"I was fairly happy with his run in the Corowa Cup," Maher said.
"I think he can improve again and if he does it looks a winnable race.
"He drops in weight, so that can only help his cause."

Nick Souquet will once again partner Cha Cha King.
Despite drawing barrier 10, Maher said he expected Cha Cha King to roll forward and give his rivals something to catch.
"Nick's happy with the draw because he can roll forward under his own steam and take up a prominent position," he said.
Cha Cha King is Maher's sole runner for the carnival.
