A section of the track near the 800m was ruled to be unsafe by chief steward John Davidson.
Almost 25mm of rain in a 20-minute period this morning has created five to six spots on the track which were considered unsafe.
IN OTHER NEWS:
There had been six scratchings in the $180,000 feature race, the Albury Gold Cup, before stewards made the call.
A helicopter had been called in to the course in an attempt to dry the track.
Fashions on the field and social gatherings at the track will continue as planned.
