Star recruit Tom Youngs continued his excellent month with another best on ground performance.
The crafty Englishman scored a brace and was involved in setting up the match-winner to take the Border NPL 2 outfit to a positive points tally after starting on minus three.
Murray were on the board in the second minute when Youngs lobbed the Geelong keeper with a brilliant finish, but the hosts replied three minutes later through Denis Yongule.
Scores were locked at 1-1 at the break, but it was Murray that struck the first blow of the second half in the 51st minute, with Youngs again in the thick of it.
A nice build up between Walker and Youngs saw the latter brought down in the 18-yard box.
Youngs was up to the task with the spot kick to edge Murray back in front.
Geelong continued to press for an equaliser without success as Murray substitute Alex West tucked away the sealer in stoppage time, following a nice combination from Youngs and 16-year-old Jordan Hore.
"That winning feeling is what it's all about," Murray coach Elliot Jones said.
"It was great to break that run of results because we felt like we were going OK and couldn't get the result.
"It was a really ugly, gritty second half.
"We just hung on and came away with the win, it was always going to be that way trying to get it done.
"We brought Jordy Hore on, a 16-year-old kid and he set up the winner, which was fantastic.
"Tommy Youngs was again the best player on the park and it was great for Alex West to score the sealer.
"It was just a great day for the club and probably the loudest I've ever sung the song after a win."
West was the unlikely hero, having played a full game in the under-20s earlier.
"My instructions late in the game for Westy was to tuck in and defend his guts out," Jones said.
"Three minutes later he popped up on the 18-yard box and scored the winner.
"I was happy, but at the same time I didn't expect him to be there (laughs).
"The set up for the goal was a slip ball from Tommy and Jordy was one-on-one with the keeper who got a hand to it.
"He (Hore) turned around and played it to the top of the 18-yard box and Westy sealed the game.
"Westy has been fantastic the past month, he had an interrupted pre-season and has come back in and worked really hard."
Youngs is now the equal leading goal-scorer in the league with five goals in the past four matches.
"I don't want to be too dramatic, but he's been our best player and he's probably been the in-form player of the league - we just haven't been getting the results," Jones admitted.
"We all know what he can do on the ball, but when the ball turns over, he tracks back and does all the one-percenters for the team."
Melkie Woldemichael was a late withdrawal, while Archie Thompson didn't make the trip due to illness.
The ladder after round six is: Eastern Lions 13*, Langwarrin 10, Northcote City 10, Box Hill United 9, Melbourne City 8*, Bulleen 8*, Manningham United 5, Goulburn Valley Suns 5, Springvale 5, Murray United 1.
