The classic, now in its 29th year, will start tomorrow and has attracted a strong field of competitors, with Steve Misfud, Australia’s No.1 ranked amateur, a confirmed starter.
Adrian Ridley (Yarrawonga) and Shaun Dalitz (Albury) shape as the Border’s best chances in the three-day event.
Melbourne’s Neil Robertson, a two-time winner of the event, last year became World Champion in England.
Meanwhile, the Commercial Club will tonight take on a team from New Zealand in a test match as a precursor to the classic.
The 7 v 7 dual cross-Tasman dual starts at the Commercial Club from 7.30pm.
