Wangaratta Rovers will fight the report of Stuart Booth from Saturday's loss to Albury.
Booth was reported and sent off for 15 minutes for allegedly charging Albury's Joel Mackie during a scuffle in the second quarter.
Former Hawks' co-coach Sam Carpenter was being held down by Mackie, with support from team-mate Oliver McEwan.
It's expected Rovers will argue Booth raced in only to support his team-mate.
Booth will be the only player from the league to front the tribunal tomorrow night at Albury's SS&A Club.
JUMPING JACK
Rovers unveiled a class act in Jack Gerrish.
The speedster was one of three players from last year's under 18 premiership squad to face the Tigers, alongside Sam Allen and Ed Dayman.
In the second quarter, Gerrish dropped what he should have marked in the middle of the ground, but then regathered the ball quickly and blasted away from his opponent to hit Cody Schutt on the chest 35m from goal.
Gerrish runs and moves like Richmond superstar Dustin Martin.
That's no comparison of talent, but he's exciting to watch.
TOP DEBUT
If O and M selectors are after a defender, then Rovers' Nathan Cooper made a statement.
At the six-minute mark of the first quarter, he crunched a goal-bound Michael Duncan, who was blindsided.
It's no surprise Cooper easily handled the O and M given he's opposed GWS's Jonathon Patton and kept five-time NEAFL leading goalkicker Darren Ewing goalless.
He was clearly the Hawks' best and even though the club doesn't meet its arch-rival in Wangaratta until round eight, it will be an absorbing contest against Pies' superstar Michael Newton.
The pair could be team-mates a fortnight earlier when the O and M faces Mornington Peninsula Nepean on May 18.
WILL'S WAY
Albury's Will McIntosh produced his best performance in the 68-point win over the Hawks.
The small forward kicked three goals, equalling the Tigers' best output.
"Yeah, it was alright I suppose, it was good to get on the end of a couple and it's good to get a win," McIntosh said after the first game.
The 23-year-old had an interrupted pre-season, spending much of the past month in Geelong.
"Willy Mac has those finishing skills, he'll play a few different roles this year," coach Peter German said.
"From a coaching perspective he was in a good bunch of players who contributed."
DAINE'S DAY
Daine Porter's record-breaking 266th game was perfect, until late.
"The guys tried to set me up for a goal and I had a shot from 25m and choked," he laughed.
Former coach Brendan Cairns spoke before the game, with the club's seniors and reserves forming a guard of honour, while both clubs lined up after the match.
Porter passed Brett Keir's mark, which had stood since 1994.
