Madoc Elphick had just been released on conditional bail when police found him with the anti-psychotic drug Seroquel.
The 18-year-old, Albury Local Court was told this week, had a tablet and a quarter-tablet of the drug without a prescription.
He pleaded guilty to having goods in custody suspected of being stolen, for which he was convicted and fined $500.
Albury police were in Glenelg Drive, Springdale Heights, on January 5 just after 9.30am when they saw Elphick inside a nearby unit.
They entered the residence through an open door and during a search of Elphick, found the drugs wrapped in plastic in his sock.
