Police caught 59 people drink driving in southern NSW during a long weekend operation, and issued 1299 speeding infringements.
Officers also responded to 36 major crashes which left 12 people injured.
Victorian police are concerned about the state's soaring road toll, with 101 people killed on the roads so far this year, an increase of 40 deaths to the same time last year.
