A Coalition campaign spokeswoman said it would be a competitive grants process.
"The program will be run over two years - 2019/20 and 2020/21," she said.
Indi Nationals candidate Mark Byatt said the addition of $720,000 for Agricultural Shows Australia to support programs for young farmers was also important.
"From Alexandra to Walwa and the Upper Murray, our country shows are an integral part of the Indi community," he said.

Mr Hogan said the Wodonga Show Society had been successful in receiving grants from the Victorian government but that any additional support was welcome.
"Any improvements we make not only help the show on show day, but the community groups who access the showgrounds year-round," he said.
"We're looking to put in a new watering system."
The Coalition also made a commitment of new drought measures, with $1 million set to go to 14 additional council areas in the drought communities program including Berrigan and Federation.
Farrer MP Susan Ley said she was glad to see those areas had now been included in the program, which assesses rainfall deficiency data from the Bureau of Meteorology.
"We really did need to understand the stresses of these communities, particularly when they saw this program being made available to councils around them," she said.
"While Corowa itself is on the river and there are people who don't depend on agriculture, you go to the back area of Federation to Urana, Rand, it is pretty dry.
"Farmers out there tell me they have had 18 months of the worst they've seen."
