RECORD BOOKS
Don't be surprised if Thurgoona break some records over the weekend against Beechworth. Especially in the reserves. With Beechworth struggling for numbers and Thurgoona boasting one of the best reserves sides in recent memory, things could get ugly if the conditions are dry. The Dogs are averaging 23 goals a game and boast a percentage of 687.
RICKY ON FIRE
Chiltern spearhead Ricky Whitehead is providing prolific goalkicker Trent Castles with some stiff competition in the race for the goalkicking title. Whitehead has booted 36 majors including 16 last week against Beechworth. He is averaging nine goals a match and holds a six goal buffer over Castles. Whitehead would fancy his chances of another bag against Wahgunyah.
LIFE BAN
One of the biggest talking points was James Gray after he received a two-match ban at the tribunal on Tuesday night for abusive language towards an umpire. The fiery Blue has now accumulated 12 weeks in suspension and is closing in on the 16-match threshold which results in a lifetime ban. Cudgewa defender Dane Arthur received a lifetime ban in 2012 before it was overturned on appeal.
