Brian Ward runs Illawong at Table Top, and the field day will showcase the work he has done over the past 24 years at a field day on Wednesday, May 8.
The field day will focus on linking profitability to productivity and farm resilience through natural capital.
Mr Ward's property is renowned for its management, with rotational grazing used for pasture management.
There is also an emphasis on maintaining ground cover, which allows any rainfall to be utilised by catching water where it falls, as well as revegetation plots which have good shrub structure and composition.
Field day organiser and Soils for Life project manager Terry Harkness said the Illawong management meant that the property showed resilience to drought.
"Bryan is restocking at a time when everybody else has destocked or is hand feeding," Mr Harkness said.
Soils for Life is about to publish a case study on Illawong and the field day has been planned to coincide with its publication on the Soils for Life Website.
Mr Ward uses Illawong to fatten premium quality pasture-fed Angus steers for the JBS Australia Farm Assurance program.
His meat is primarily sold into the United States as well as Australian restaurants.
The field day will be held from 10am-3pm at Illawong, 253 Bowna Road, Tabletop.
Lunch will be available for $10. RSVP by Monday, May 6, to 02 6273 6647 or to aoife@soilsforlife.org.au
