Cancer Council NSW showed its appreciation to six longtime hosts of Australia's Biggest Morning Tea events by inviting them to a special masterclass run by Albury pastry chef Geoffrey Michael.
Participants from Albury, Wodonga, Gerogery and Walla learned how to create the decorative cone-shaped dessert croquembouche.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Western region community relations co-ordinator Brianna Carracher said some Border VIP hosts had contributed to the annual morning tea fundraiser since it began in 1994.
"A lot of them are bakers themselves and do all the cooking for their morning teas each year," she said.
"So this is one way that we're able to say thank-you, bring in a new skill, have some fun and get to know some other hosts from around the region as well."
The 2019 Australia's Biggest Morning Tea takes place on May 23, but people are welcome to plan an event any day in May or June.
"Whatever suits your group of friends, community group or workplace," Ms Carracher said.
"Grab some scones and a cuppa and raise a few dollars."
