After being shown the door by the Thurgoona and Commercial Golf Resort Albury clubs, the Brownlow medallist was barred by Wodonga last week.
The indefinite ban came about after Akermanis hit too many balls off the tee during a charity day.
It is believed the incident was caught on video.
"I explained to them the organisers told me that because I was in a team of three I could take the extra shot," Akermanis said.
"I only hit more than two balls once off the tee on the first tee as the balls went out of bounds.
"While I understand that someone made a complaint it really was without consultation or even a phone call to ask myself what happened.
"I wasn't even contacted about the ban.
"I only found out when I rang up to play last week."

Wodonga club captain Mark Evans declined to comment when contacted by The Border Mail.
Officials from Thurgoona and Commercial Golf Resort Albury have also remained silent on the recent bans handed out to the former North Albury coach.
Akermanis, who has ambitions to turn professional, said he contacted Golf Australia in a bid to make Thurgoona, Commercial Golf Resort Albury and Wodonga accountable.
"The clubs don't have a leg to stand on but they seem to be able to get away with it," Akermanis said.
"I spoke to my golf coach who is pretty high up and has been around and he said 'I don't know if they can do this'.
"That's why I decided to go to the top."
Akermanis emailed Golf Australia on Sunday seeking answers and plans to continue playing at Howlong and Corowa.
"It's probably a good thing playing on the harder tracks," he said.
"It's just a bit of extra travel."
