A YARRAWONGA under-18s player will miss the remainder of the season after suffering serious injuries in an incident against Wodonga on Saturday.

Brodie Tyson suffered a fractured vertebrae and three bulging discs in the sickening incident at Yarrawonga.
Wodonga player Jordan O'Connor was reported for intentionally striking and will face the Ovens and Murray independent tribunal on Wednesday night.

Umpire Shane Forge reported O'Connor after the second quarter incident and recommended the charge serious enough to be referred straight to the tribunal.
No set penalty was offered.
Yarrawonga's thirds coach, Ross Mulquiney, said Tyson had already been ruled out from playing again this season given the serious nature of his injuries.
"Brodie has suffered a very serious injury and has been informed he won't play again this season," Mulquiney said.

Tyson was concussed in the incident and had to be assisted from the field.
He was initially taken to the Yarrawonga hospital.
After an initial examination it was recommended that he be transferred to the Wangaratta hospital.
Tyson underwent scans which revealed a fractured vertebrae and three bulging discs.
He was released from hospital shortly after midnight on Saturday night.
Tyson relocated to Yarrawonga this season after gaining employment as an apprentice plumber.
He previously played for South Morang juniors in the Northern football and netball league.
