A drop in water levels gave police, the SES and Albury and Border Rescue Squad members a chance to search for Bigul Pandit yesterday.
Relative Harry Adhikari is considered Mr Pandit's brother in Nepalese culture and returned yesterday.
He said the family was still waiting for answers and hopes the 21-year-old's parents can soon find closure.
The search has focused on water between the Noreuil Park and Kremur Street boat ramps, with about 20 people involved.
The water level has dropped about 60 centimetres, which has exposed more of the bank.
"Hopefully one day we might find some remains and give the family some closure," Albury and Border Rescue Squad captain Paul Marshall said.
