A thank you event was held at the Bureau, where in the last six months alone, 664 people inquired about volunteering.
Office manager Sharon Pellas, who volunteers with Albury Wodonga Health, said it was exciting how many people expressed interest.
"On average, there about 120 people we refer on to different agencies every month," she said.
Among those people at the event on Monday was Tilak Chhetri, who is involved with the Bureau and also works on the Bhutanese Community Farm project with Parklands Albury-Wodonga.
"We harvest lots of vegetables in the garden and do catering for different groups," he said.
"They (AWVRB) have supported us since we arrived in Albury, so they are our eyes - they can teach us where to go and what to do.
"After citizenship, we still need help and they give us a hand."
Mr Chhetri said many Bhutanese community members had expressed interest in the Bureau's latest initiative, 'Kitchen in the Hood'.
In other news:
Chief executive Jemma Toohey said the portable kitchen had been approved for use within the last month.
"We've been working for four years to get this project off the ground," she said.
"We're training multicultural volunteers to participate, so they learn all the right skills for hospitality.
"In the first six months we're going to neighbourhood houses - hence the name - and in the second part of the year we want to teach the volunteers about social enterprise."
