A volunteer for Australian Red Cross, MAMA and Albury Library Museum, Ms DeVreeze said art and history were her passions.
"I just love people and I love art and history," she said.
"Through volunteering, I thought I would be able to interact with people with similar interests."
Having migrated from England in the 1970s and settling in Albury in 1979, Ms DeVreeze said she enjoyed being a volunteer during art exhibitions.
"I've met a lot of interesting people from around the country and overseas," Ms DeVreeze said.
"During the Sidney Nolan - Ned Kelly exhibition, I had relatives of Ned Kelly come in; the gallery staff came and took down their family history."
AlburyCity and Albury Wodonga Volunteer Resource Bureau hosted a mini-expo at the Albury Library Museum on Tuesday to coincide with National Volunteer Week, which runs until Sunday.
Exhibitors such as Vision Australia, AlburyCity, Albury Wodonga Volunteer Resource Bureau and Lutheran Aged Care outlined volunteering opportunities on the Border.
Lutheran Aged Care volunteer coordinator Kerrie Warburton said volunteers were always welcome.
She said Lutheran Aged Care had 100 active volunteers across three sites in Albury and The Rock.
"We are particularly looking for more men of all ages to do activities with male residents; things such as playing pool, men's shed, just sitting around talking or watching the races or the football."
