TIGHT COMPETITION
Two draws last round highlighted just how tight the Tallangatta league is this season. While Thurgoona has a tight grip on the minor premiership, there looks to be eight sides jostling for the remaining four spots in the top-five. Kiewa-Sandy Creek sit fifth but could jump as high as second after this round, depending on other results.
DEDICATED DOSWELL
It's hard to knock the passion Brett Doswell has for inter-league. The Thurgoona coach missed the round six clash against Chiltern with injury. But he was quick to put up his hand last week to represent the league against the O&K. Doswell was named best on ground in the Tallangatta leagues thumping 98 point victory.
JAMARL JOY
It appears Thurgoona's Jamarl O'Sullivan's retirement plans have been put on hold for at least another season. O'Sullivan missed the Bulldogs' opening four matches as he contemplated retirement. But he was a surprise inclusion against Beechworth after a teammate went down in the warm-up. O'Sullivan also played against Chiltern last round.
