With skipper Blake Le Cornu scoring 22 points including two tries, the home team stamped its authority on the match early and refused to ease up.
Ryan O'Sullivan and Liam Krautz also played well for the Steamers.
"We scored some nice tries and defended well," coach Paul Musarra said.
"Tumut came down here a little short, but we had a few missing as well.
"It was a good win."
Musarra said he was reasonably pleased with his side's 3-3 win-loss start to the home and away series.
The club has been battling injuries to key players.
"Considering the strength of the competition, we are probably sitting where we should be," he said.
"We're hanging in there.
"Hopefully we get a few back pretty soon."
The Steamers take on Wagga City this weekend.
