More than 150 farmers, their families and community members attended the Pleasant Hills Hall last week to "take their minds off their troubles".
Rotary Club of Albury North president Rob Simmons said the community barbecue was to "raise farmers spirits".
"We have a number of members who are part of the farming community - some active and some retired," he said.
"We just wanted to do something rather than just giving them money.
"And by all accounts the farmers and their families were very appreciative."
Mr Simmons said the Pleasant Hills event was just one of many the club is hoping to host in the coming months.
The event was organised by the Albury North and Holbrook Rotary clubs with more than 20 businesses supporting.
