BO'C: Osborne is currently sitting equal sixth on the Hume league netball ladder after six rounds. Are you guys pretty happy with that at the moment?
CM: Yeah we're pretty happy. There's a few games that we went down in where we probably shouldn't have. We just didn't perform the way that we should have. But other than that, I think we just have to work on playing as a team, like we did in our first game against Culcairn. There's a few things we need to work on and then I think we'll get there.
BO'C: You play Murray Magpies this week, what's one of the main focuses for the team heading into that game?
CM: I played with some of the girls in the interleague side that come from Murray Magpies, Hayley (McPhillips) and Latoya (Mahuru). Hayley is a good shooter so I think we'll have to try and shut her down. Obviously I know how she plays, so it's kind of a good thing to have that insight. We've just got to work on converting our goals.
BO'C: Michael Cunningham is now in his second year as head coach at Osborne. How is he settling into the side and what are some of the things he has brought to the team?
CM: He's really good and likes to get us around each other. He always loves a high-five at training and loves to punch out momentum in the game as well. He's always all about chat and getting each other up and about. He has really made the side a lot better than it has been in previous years as well.
BO'C: You represented the league for the second time this year, can you tell me a little bit about that experience?
CM: Yeah this year was my second year and it was really good. We were down pretty much all game but were always really close behind. In the last quarter I think we just outrun them in the end and were able to get up by one goal. It was an awesome feeling.
BO'C: You also took out last year's rising star award for the league. Can you tell me a little bit about that and the emotion you felt when you were announced as the winner?
CM: It was really good because I feel that sometimes Osborne can be underrated and it's such a really nice family club. I've come across with my boyfriend and he's grown up in Osborne his whole life, so it was good to get something for us.
BO'C: You were also the winner of the club championship, you must have thought that was a pretty outstanding effort?
CM: Yeah it was awesome.
