Howlong narrowly avoided their first loss of the season at the hands of Brock-Burrum on Saturday.
The Saints lead for much of the game but the determined Spiders fought back hard in the last term to wrap it up by just one goal.
Goal shooter Tahnee Thorpe was sensational for the Spiders, while April Lampe impressed in the centre court.
Spiders coach Emma Bridle said it was another game her side had to work for to achieve the win, with the competition very close this season.
"We've had so many really close games, so it doesn't always necessarily feel like we're undefeated," Bridle said.
"The competition is so even, when you look at the draw there's no easy games, which is good for the competition in general.
"I think that's why so many teams are playing good netball.
"There's no game that you're really looking forward to because you know they're all going to be tough."
Preparations for the Spiders were slightly different to usual heading into the clash after the passing of Bridle's grandmother during the week.
"I was really grateful for our B-grade coach Jess Hancock and our captain Jaimi Dove for the help they gave me during the week and on game day," Bridle said.
The Saints now sit on four wins and three losses this season and will prepare to face CDHBU.
Howlong will now take on Culcairn this weekend.
