Coach Danny Frawley called up Meredith and Whiley after they missed the tussle due to suspension and injury.
Wangaratta Rovers defender Nathan Cooper, Panther trio Marty Brennan, Shaun Mannagh and Tim Hanna, Albury's Elliott Powell, Wangaratta's Ben Speight and Wodonga Raiders captain Brad St John were also selected in the 58-man squad.

Meredith and Whiley have hit top form at club level and shape as a big part of Frawley's plans to win the Brian Moloney Cup.
"It was a bit of a surprise because I didn't think I'd be eligible after missing the Ovens and Murray game," Meredith said.
"I enjoyed playing last year so we'll see what happens."
Meredith, Dylan Van Berlo, Brandon Symes and Harry Wheeler represented AFL Victoria Country last season.
