WINTON'S spot on the V8 Supercars calendar has plunged into doubt again with moves afoot to drop two rounds in 2020.
The North-East venue, which has only missed out on hosting a round of the prestigious series three times in more than three decades, is reportedly one of two tracks at risk of missing out next year.
The Winton round was most recently in jeopardy in 2016 when a three-year contract with Supercars Australia expired.

An economic impact study conducted by Benalla Auto Club at the time showed the major event generated $8.8 million.
"We are still working with all of our partners on the makeup of the 2020 calendar, which we hope to unveil next month," a Supercars Australia spokesman said.
"Those conversations are ongoing making it too early to comment at this point."
Last month's Winton round was cut back from three to two days of Supercars action to save costs with no appearance on the Friday despite the teams already being at the circuit.
Benalla Auto Club chief executive Chris Lewis-Williams confirmed it was in discussions about securing the event next year and beyond.
"Our latest contract finished with this year's event," he said.
"For the last three years of the contract we've put on a good event and we've got a good relationship with the (state government) increasing the branding of the event.
"It will be up to Supercars what Supercars want to do.
"If there are bigger forces at play through state government rivalries or other contracts we are not privy to to that.
"But it is the most expensive event Winton puts on for the year."
A Tasmanian round of the series at Symmons Plains was recently secured until 2023, helped by $5.6 million in state government funding over the length of the deal plus another $1.75 million from the state motor racing body for circuit upgrades.
Contracts for other rounds at Phillip Island, Townsville and Gold Coast are also up for renewal.
Winton last missed out on a round of the V8s in 2004-05.
