The Sunday July 21 journey is the brainchild of Mr Fischer and former Albury councillor Ross Jackson and net proceeds will go to the Albury-Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust.
"It's all fallen into place and all are welcome to come all aboard," Mr Fischer said.
It will be the first time in at least a decade that a passenger train has visited Boree Creek with engines switched at The Rock due to differences in axle loads between the main and branch lines.
The Rock to Boree Creek line is generally only frequented by grain trains when ample harvests necessitate its use.
"The Boree Creek railway line is rarely used by passenger trains and this tour a unique perspective of country rail travel not seen in recent history," Mr Fischer said.
It leaves Albury at 9am and returns at 5.30pm with passengers able to stop and explore Lockhart if they do not want to travel to Boree Creek.
There are remains of the Boree Creek station, with stairs to be used for disembarkation, while a platform and building exist at Lockhart.
There will be just under 200 seats available on the carriages that will be amassed by the Lachlan Valley Railway Society, of which Mr Jackson is a director.
