Joseph Dawson, 21, was recently taken into custody following the South Albury attack on June 6.
Police believe the victim, 25, was stabbed near a block of units on Dempsey Place between 2.30pm and 3pm.
The bleeding 25-year-old man walked into South Albury Takeaway with a wound to his stomach and was assisted by staff before undergoing surgery at Albury hospital.
OTHER COURT NEWS:
Police released an image of Dawson, also known as Joseph O'Donohoo, three days later and appealed for information to find him.
The 21-year-old was arrested this week before facing Albury Local Court.
He has been charged with a single count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He did not apply for release before magistrate Rodney Brender and will remain in custody.
The matter will return to court on August 13.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
