Parr ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament two rounds ago against Howlong and is expected to have surgery in the coming weeks.
The Azzi medallist was taking a philosophical approach to the setback.
"It's all good, it's just a part of footy," Parr said.
"It's the worst-case scenario but I just want to get the surgery done as quickly as possible so I can start doing the rehab."
Parr said the incident which led to him rupturing his ACL was relatively innocuous.
"I was just turning a different direction, the foot planted and unfortunately the knee gave way," he said.
"I heard the dreaded pop and crackle noise and immediately thought that I had done my knee.
"In the back of your mind you are hoping it might only be a medial or something else but it was my ACL."

Parr is regarded among the premier big men in the Hume league and is a triple premiership player with the Tigers.
He became only the second player to clinch the Azzi Medal and Des Kennedy Memorial Medal in the same season in 2017.
The 34-year-old was set to notch his 200th match in the yellow and black this season.
The loss of Parr is a major blow to the Tigers' premiership aspirations with the athletic tall their No. 1 ruckman.
The spring-heeled tall has also got an uncanny knack of landing a long range goal and hurting the opposition on the scoreboard.
Structurally, the Tigers will have to reshuffle with veteran big man Hayden Gleeson and Kodie O'Malley set to spend more time in the ruck.
Parr said he was keen to extend his decorated career.
"Hopefully I can have the surgery done within the next month," he said.
"I would like to think I will play again.
"I don't want to finish my career on a low point and I would like to think I could play at least another season or two and finish on a high note hopefully."
Osborne has already had its fair share of injuries this season with Duncan McMaster, Lachlan Armstrong, Izzaac McDonnell, Mitchell Wickham and Stephen Doig missing matches.
Despite the setback, the Tigers remain in top-two contention to sit third on the ladder with a 8-2 record.
The fight for a coveted top-two finish looks to be between flag favourite Brock-Burrum, Culcairn and the Tigers.
The trio all play each other again in the countdown to finals which is set to have a huge bearing on who gets the double chance in September.
Jindera was the last side to win the flag from outside the top-two in 2011.
Osborne play Billabong Crows on Saturday.
