Things are tied at the top between Rutherglen, Kiewa and Thurgoona, with percentage the only difference.
After Rutherglen defeated Thurgoona by eight goals last weekend, the Bulldogs will now have another top of the table clash on Saturday against the Hawks.
Evans admits her side will have a tough task ahead of them.
"I still rate them as one of the teams to beat, so we'll certainly have a challenge ahead of us," Evans said.
"We'll have to be at our best to beat them."
When the two teams met back in round one it was just one goal the difference in favour of Thurgoona, giving an indication of how close the game could be this weekend.
"They got the jump on us early and we clawed our way back, but couldn't get in front," Evans said.
"We've been working on a few things and we'll go in confident that the girls we have will give it a red hot crack."

While things couldn't be much tighter at the top, Evans said the rest of the competition also remains close this season.
"It's obviously close amongst the top three, but I also think there's not much of a gap down to the next teams," Evans said.
"It's good to see, it creates some real interest in the competition.
"We've had quite a few changes from last year's team and it can take a while to gel, but the girls have done that really well.
"From a coaches perspective, I couldn't ask for a better bunch of girls."
Kiewa and Thurgoona will meet at 2:50pm on Saturday in Thurgoona.
