Both sides went into the clash severely under-manned.
But it was the Bulldogs who proved why they are the raging flag favourites with a comprehensive 18.18 (126) to 4.8 (32) victory.
The visitors were without Michael Thompson, Scott Bartel, Tim Darcy, Ryan Wallace and Jay Berry.

The home side was missing Sam Cross, Jesse Johnston, Rory Muggivan, Dylan Rake, Lucas Mellier and Ewan Hampton.
The Hawks' struggle to cover their losses was highlighted by veteran Leigh Cameron making his first senior appearance for several seasons.
The Bulldogs may not have played a top-five side in the past month.
But the challenge of facing the defending premier sparked the home side into producing one of their best performances of the season.
The Bulldogs opened up a handy 24-point buffer in the opening term as Jamarl O'Sullivan dominated the hit-outs to provide his midfielders with first use of the ball.
Barton medallist Jayden Kotzur was also lively early and booted two classy goals.
Zach Gibbons, Cody Mannagh and Bryton Garth also thrived in the slippery conditions.
Coach Brett Doswell was beaming with the dominant display.
"We certainly had the right attitude and were physical, had plenty of numbers at the contest and stepped-up to the challenge," Doswell said.
"When you play sides outside of finals contention it's hard to get a gauge of where you are at.
"So we were looking forward to today and played really well.
"It was one of our more dominant displays of the season and obviously the conditions suited us.
"But we are still mindful of who Kiewa had out and that they will be a completely different proposition at Sandy Creek during finals
"Especially if it happens to be on a quick deck."
One of the few positives for the Hawks was the return to form of Jack Di Mizio who overcame some recent niggling injuries.
Kiewa-Sandy Creek now trail third-placed Chiltern by a game-and-a-half plus percentage and will need a minor miracle to finish with the double chance.
