The Lions face a must win clash against fierce rival Henty to keep alive their top-two aspirations.
Schulz made a surprise appearance for GWS reserves against Aspley on Saturday.
It was his first hit-out this season as he recovers from a shoulder reconstruction.
Lions president Brendan Sheather said Schulz made a one-off appearance for the Giants reserves because of travel restraints.

"Sam rang me on Friday to tell me he was in Melbourne and couldn't get back to Culcairn to play because of his commitments," Sheather said.
"GWS offered to fly him from Melbourne to Sydney.
"He was keen to get some game time and test how his body is holding up.
"I spoke to him on Sunday and he said he pulled up fine.
"He had to lodge a clearance from Culcairn to play."
Schulz had four kicks and three handballs after playing for a half.
Sheather said Schulz trained at Culcairn last Tuesday and would train again this week before making his highly anticipated return against Henty on the weekend.
"The plan is for him to play this week against Henty," he said.
"Unless he pulls up sore from training we are hoping he runs out on Saturday."
Schulz needs to play four matches to qualify for finals.
There is five rounds remaining.
Culcairn play Henty, Holbrook, Jindera, Murray Magpies and Lockhart.
It must win all five matches to be any chance of snaring a top-two finish.
The Lions have suffered successive losses to premiership contenders Osborne and Brock-Burrum to sit third with a 9-4 record.
Schulz is set to add another dimension to the midfield comprising ball magnet Jay Shields, Adam Eady, Dane Hallinan and Ben Gould.
Eady missed on the weekend with a knee complaint.
