Vet Renee Pigdon, named outstanding business person while her company Petfocus Vetcare won excellence in innovation, said completing a new hospital in October had been a major achievement.
"Our previous facilities we outgrew, so we designed, planned and built this new premises," she said.
"The innovative part of the hospital and clinic is the segregation of species. It's like a breath of fresh air working in there, so we're all very happy.
"My whole team, we put our whole hearts and souls into what we do."
Dog Education Centre director Brydie Charlesworth, who took out excellence in commercial, professional and business services and shared employer of choice with The Personnel Group, opened her centre four years ago, which now dealt with about 350 dogs a week.
"It went from me and my car and my dog, to myself now and 11 staff," she said.
"We rehouse dogs, we train therapy dogs, we run a doggy day care, do pet dog training and seminars.
"I think the word is getting out there and people are becoming more aware of dogs needing more than just a large backyard to play in."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Allied health clinic Icaria Health, named after a Greek island known for its healthy, long-living residents, was recognised in the excellence in health, education and disability services category.
Owners Peter and Sophy Sirr bring together multiple services like occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech pathology for the aged care and disability sector.
"Three years ago, it was just my wife and I and now we've got a team of 16," Mr Sirr said.
Winemakers of Rutherglen executive officer Natalie Ajay said her group was thrilled to claim two awards, most outstanding business and outstanding not for profit/community organisation.
"The awards (submissions) were a great opportunity for us to sit back and really analyse what we do, what drives us and what benefit we bring back to the people who support us," she said.
