Just over 12 months after opening on the Border Mantra Albury Hotel has taken out gold at the Regional Tourism Awards.

The $40 million hotel was the final piece of the Volt Lane redevelopment and opened its doors to customers on May 1, 2018.
The hotel took out the top prize in the deluxe accommodation category at the Destination Country and Outback and Destination Riverina Murray awards in Dubbo on Saturday night.
The Murray tourism region took out 11 awards at the event which also included gold for the second year in a row for The River Deck Albury in the tourism restaurants and catering services category and gold for DC on the Lake Mulwala in the caravan and holiday parks category.
Murray Regional Tourism chair Wendy Greiner said 14 businesses from the region were named as finalists, with seven gold and four silver.
"The Murray region has again performed exceptionally well at this year's awards which is testament to the outstanding quality and huge variety of tourism product and experiences available to visitors" she said.

Winners and finalists can now go on to represent the Murray region at the NSW and Victorian state tourism awards to be held later this year.
Other local businesses who took out awards include Albury Visitor Information Centre being named a finalist, a silver for the Corowa Distilling Co in the tourism wineries, distilleries and breweries category, silver for the Great Aussie Holiday Park Bowna in the caravan and holiday parks category and silver for Rich Glen Olive Estate Yarrawonga in the excellence in food tourism category.
"We congratulate all winners from the Murray region.This is a huge achievement given the calibre of entrants vying for these awards," Ms Greiner said.
